Mr. King Cheetah your response was most helpful in regards to finding the
titles of the software needed. The DivX 5.1 version was most helpful. I am
however curious as to what CDs you are getting this software off of.
The 8500 has a 73 GByte 15k disk attached to Atto UL3D Wide card and ATI Rage
Pro 8 MByte card delivering decent performance when playing AVI videos. I
needed to play an AVI for an in store display window with the 8500 as it has
composite RCA video outputs. If I were to have purchased an add in card with
composite video in/ out it would have cost me several hundred dollars.
It really cracks me up how expensive a comparable setup would have been yet I
was able to use an "obsolete" Macintosh system to do the same job.
