Ok, I found the link to the page that has a probable pinout of the Apple IIe Card Cable (which I'm sure we could verify easily enough with a volt meter on an existing cable):
http://www.vintagemacworld.com/lc_card_faq.html Here are some links to some of the possible Dsub connectors we could use: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=17EHD-0 26-P-AA-0-00-ND http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=A31505- ND http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=A35213- ND http://www.connectworld.net/ccc/DB19FS-db19-connectors.html http://www.dataworlddirect.com/db19-connectors.html I haven't built a cable like this in a LONG time, so I'm not sure how exactly to go about it. But I'm guessing I buy 10-20 each of the three dsub connectors, then find a couple of rolls of cables that would do the 9 pin and the 19 pin for the disk drive and the joystick. Then just start soldering them in and maybe shrinktube the end where they 'join'. Anyone got any better ideas? Like a company that outsources this type of thing in small numbers relatively cheaply? I would love to post everything I have and let's brainstorm on the best way to make these cables? I've got just the card, and cannot find anywhere, a pinout of the cable. You could really do the vintage mac community a huge favor by pinning-out this cable so that we could make our own cables to use the cards. I know your pain about prices though. I've usually spent much more than I'll ever get for these things, but to me, it's worth it. -Christian -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
