More just thinking out aloud.............not sure anyone will have any
answer, maybe just more questions?

I remember in the original Mac 128k owners manual, there is 2 discreet
photos, that if you look closely you can see a Macintosh with a twiggy
drive, has anyone ever noticed this?

I remember one photo is from the top of the unit looking downwards, if you
look close you can notice the long drive slot.

I wonder if the connector for the floppy drive on a 400k mac, is the same
as a Lisa twiggy?

It has been about 10 years since I was inside a 128k, but I remember the
drive cage is spaced out for a 5 1/4" drive.

The Macintosh was intended to ship with the twiggy drive I'm sure, but
problems meant that they switched to the Sony unit.

I wonder then, the reason we don't see any prototype system software, before
.97 is that they were on twiggy disks?

Just sharing some thoughts I've been tossing around lately, maybe others
have some to add.

Kind Regards
Des
