I have a StarMax 4200 with a G3 upgrade on OS 9.1, and still use it
regularly. Solid as a rock after 12 years, and only on its second PRAM
battery.

Nowadays it's mostly used to play Virtual Pool (the Celeris one) -- a
brilliant simulation that makes the OS X ones look like bad jokes. And
it's a good stop-off machine between 68k and OS X Macs.

There's actually a Google Group for the StarMax, AND a Yahoo one. Both
pretty moribund now, but occasionally someone posts to say they have a
StarMax to give away. You could ask for one, rather than wait for an
offer. There may be people glad to find a good home for their old
machine, but who wouldn't bother to advertise it.

Good luck in your search.

Cheers,
Chris Adams.
