So, I've gotten proficient at cap replacement. I have a surplus of IIci's I'm repairing. Replaced all the necessary ones and I must say, I did a good job. lol. They power right up, but don't chime but will show a white screen with a slightly pinkish hue.
The caps I used weren't the most expensive. I'm wondering, did I get bad caps? Or, is there another suspect to look at for a white/pinkish screen, no chime status? I tried all the obvious too - replace RAM, the motherboard is thoroughly cleaned with a lot of TLC too. Of the 4 I have, I recapped 2 with Radio Shack caps and they run perfectly. The other 2 were recapped with eBay chinese caps. New, of course. -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
