I just put a 3+ Ghz Pentium 4 system back into service. It has a fan mounted in
one of the case side panels and the owner had a stupid dog that used the fan
hole for 'target practice'. Dog urine + running fan = YEEEECHHHH!

I took everything apart and scrubbed it all with an old toothbrush under hot,
soapy water. Of course not the drives but did the power supply.

After rinsing I put the boards in a dehydrator at 85 degrees F for a couple of
hours. Works fine.

Definitely worse than the one where the inside was completely coated with
yellow fuzz from a combination of cigarette smoke and cat hair. I gave that one
a bath plus repainted the case to cover the tobacco stains. IIRC that was in
2006 and it's still working fine.
