Another thing you could try is replacing the internal battery. Some
old macs have boot issues and SCSI issues when the internal battery is
dead. I think for the classic it is 3.6v half-AA battery. I recommend
the TADIRAN ER14250 battery, as it is still made, and is the original
battery for macs. I believe that the mac classic batteries are plug-
in, and not soldered. Of course, you should double check first before
you buy anything.
