Sounds like they tried to solder it and mucked it up. My suggestion at this point is save your money, take the wires from the connectors and just solder them directly to the board as that is a weak point. I just repaired mine, but I didn't muck up the connector of course. Good luck, had mine fifteen years so far and still does very well. Also upgraded to 4 Meg's of ram makes it nice.
