Pardon my asking, but: where have you looked?  I ask because I was under the 
impression (possibly mistaken) that eBay is positively awash in such old 
machines (assuming you're willing to put up with eBay, of course).

If you're on a budget, and are willing to settle for a Performa, a WTB ("Want 
To Buy") post on the Swap List should get you what you're looking for at a 
reasonable price, particularly as some Performa models are known (though 
perhaps not widely known) as so-called "Road Apples":

You might be able to pick up a Quadra off LEM Swap, but off the top of my head, 
I would say that Quadras in general seem to be more highly sought-after 
machines and the pricing may reflect that demand.  

Of course, that's merely a guess on my part and only a WTB post will tell you 
what's actually out there. :)
