I'll post a quote I read earlier today: "My old teacher always said: 'Don't expect people to notice the obvious!'" :) The same advice is given on Newton forums (okay, -a- Newton forum) when people show up asking how to fix their apparently inoperative early-model MessagePad. The MP1x0 MessagePads are kind of like the early compact Macs in that they have an actual contrast knob as opposed to later ones where contrast is controlled by software. So, no, you should never feel bad about suggesting the obvious. Sure, some folks might take the suggestion badly and tell you, "Duh! Of course at looked at XYZ!" However, there is always somebody who will miss the obvious and your "stupid" suggestion might save them an awful lot of time and trouble.
