Hi My old Macintosh Plus died last year, I tried following the classic mac repair PDF thats floating around the net and replaced the C1 capacitor with a new 50v non polar cap. After doing the repair, I found the Plus was still dead. I dont recall if i got a Bong out of it as it was over 12 months ago.
I've since taken the old fella out of the attic and once more want to try reviving him. I powered him up this morning and discovered I am getting the Bong sound. I've checked the external floppy port and the voltages read 12.17v and 4.97v. Taken the lid of and checked the J1 yoke connector and it appears to be ok. I ran a line test on the solder joints and found there to be no breaks. I`m not a trained electrician or electronics engineer and I've now reached the limits of my knowledge for fault testing this machine. So was wondering if there's anyone on here, that might be able to advise me. Cheers James -- -- ----- You received this message because you are a member of the Vintage Macs group.
