Hi Matt,
thanks for 2 reasons: first for answering and second for giving me some 
hope.
Now, how do I do what you suggest?

I assume I have to take apart the Powerbooks and I think I can do that with 
some kind of guide I have found on the Web but then how do I recognise the 
parts to be replaced?
