thanks again for the info previously.   I got the adapter and powered the
system up thinking the monitor would display the startup, but the monitor
stays in sleep mode.  So I think I need to get a mouse or keyboard, so I
can see if the unit works.  I am using a Gateway FDP1530 as the monitor.  I
have been to a bunch of flea markets, but it looks like Apple stuff is hard
to find!   Have a good one.
