This isn't a direct answer to your question, but in addition to your SCSI to SD adapter (I'm about to order a couple of those myself!), I've had great success with the Floppy Emu on my recently-acquired Macintosh SE. As soon as I get a Mac to VGA adapter, I'll be able to try it out on my IIfx for the first time as well. It also works with Apple II and Lisa machines. You can get a complete package with acrylic case and even an SD card full of images for Apple II, Lisa, and Macintosh for a little over $100 at bmow.com.
