As far as I'm aware, a Cable Select drive will act exactly like a Master drive when used with a straight IDE cable, so you shouldn't have any trouble. If I'm misremembering and it actually acts as a Slave drive, then it's still only a single drive and shouldn't cause any data corruption problems.
