Hi again Jonny,

Actually this link to an older edition of the Sad Macs book (the third edition
from 1997) may be of more help to you! Again, its free to download.

Hi Jonny,

I don’t have the answer to hand, but I did have a Duo 230 years ago and a copy
of ’Sad Macs, Bombs & Other Disasters’ which was a really handy book. It's now
been digitised and available as a free download from the Internet Archive. You
can get it here:

I hope the solution is in here. Its been so long since I used my 230 (and it
was saved from a skip), I have a vague memory of seeing the sad mac face but
not what I did to solve it, but it did get solved easily and I’m reasonably
sure I used this book to do it!

Many thanks,
                Matt

Hello, I recently found my old PowerBook duo 230.

When I turn it on mac logo appears, but then it gave me an error (000000f and
00000001) with the sad mac face.
I already tried to boot it with different keys combination (pram reset, power
manager reset, shif key for boot without extensions) but nothing.
I didn't understand if it's hardware or software problem.
Any suggestion?

Thank you :)
