Have an LCIII which has been connected to my Apple 17" MultiScan
previously and worked fine with it, yet after a hiatus of a few days
having the computer disconnected, I find upon re-connecting the LCIII to
the monitor that the monitor will not switch on and stay on with the
computer. The monitor will initially switch on and immediately switch
back off. The monitor works fine with my other non-LC Macs (except it
will also not work with an LC475). I'm thinking that something
fundamental to the LC series may be the culprit but I'm not sure. I have
checked all connections and RAM and VRAM, etc., and I have even removed
the HDD and replaced with with another working HDD which has the same
system 7.5 software installed and it still will not bring the monitor up.
The boot chime sounds, the HDD spins and I have power supply. The
monitor is plugged in to power and the monitor cable is connected firmly
to the monitor port on the back of the LC. I have also connected the LC
to my old Apple High Res RGB monitor but can't get it to work with the LC
either. I'm just enough of a novice esp. at video stuff so would love to
have someone please try and troubleshoot this issue for me. Again, the
LC(s) both worked great with the 17" multiscan a week or so ago. Would
it make any difference if I attempted to re-install any video/monitor
software on the System 7.5 HDD out of the LC from another machine?
Thanks for any and all help! Bill
