If you don't have application sharing turned on the B computer cannot
access word on the A computer and will not be able to open the word doc.
But this is not the way a printer server operates...
This how it should work:
You should give print command on A. A should sent the print file to B via
your network. B should then send the print file to the printer, which than
turns out printed pieces of paper.
What kind of printer are we talking about anyway? What kind is mac A and
what kind is mac B? Do you have B setup as a printer server? What system?
etc. etc.
