Help?
I got a Rodime 20 Plus external HD today for my Mac Plus (which I understand
was in fact designed specifically for the Mac Plus). It is set to ID 5.
The IIci saw the Rodime, mounted it, formatted it (with HDSC_Setup) and
tested it. Looks good. I put 6.0.8 on it by copying the system folder off
my 6.0.8 boot floppy, and plugged it in the Plus.
I turned on the Rodime and let it spin up, then turned on the Plus. The
Plus seemed to find the drive, but rather than getting a happy Mac, the
screen abruptly blanked out and the HD-busy light just stayed lit. Same thing
the next reboot. It will not start from the Rodime.
What did I do wrong? It doesn't sound like hardware is to blame, just
configuration.
