Agreed. Anyone running a server OS should be required to have a license
after proving proficiency. My @home cable modem has been getting slammed
for ten days now, although it's not nearly as bad now as it was late last
week. Some people must be putting in the security patches or turning off
IIS.

The activity light on the cable modem is still flashing all the time, but
not as fast as before. The joys of sharing bandwidth with all the other
cable modem users in the neighborhood -- all their packets reach my
modem, too.

Regardless of that, though, unless @home is using the same machines for
email and Web, Code Red shouldn't be causing the subscription problems
we're seeing, nor would saturation of the user's cable connection do
that. For some reason, @home is marking email not just undeliverable, but
fatally undeliverable, which is why the list server is unsubscribing
people left and right. :-(
