Well, folks,
I went in armed with a few of your suggestions. The first 'puter I tried
Norton's on said I couldn't use it and to try the #2 utilities disk from
the 7.5.3 install set. It booted the machine OK but couldn't or wouldn't
see the HD. BUT, get this, when I tried to restart, the machine came
up fine right into 7.5.5; desktop had all the usual icons; and system
and finder were good. No problems since with that LC580. WEIRD !
I still have much to do. I found ethernet connections unattached and
even a section of 6 computers disconnected from some missing power
strips.
While I've got some of you reading this, what would be the best versions
of Norton Utilities and Conflict Catcher to use with these computers?
Remember I have 2-3 LCII's, 2-3 LC575's, and 10-12 LC580's at any one
time. Oops, I just remembered the other lab; I have 16 LCII's in there.
All running MacOS 7.5.5
TIA. Jim
