You can telnet into a DSL router via serial cable
to adjust settings or telnet into a Win2K box that
has the telnet server running and have a bunch of
fun. Of course, for once, M$ wasn't being dumb.
The telnet server is _not_ turned on by default.

Lots of things you can do with telnet. Download
your e-mail, read usenet groups, play MUDs, MOOs and
MUSHes. Some people have even revived the old
style BBSes with telnet access instead of a bunch
of dialup lines. Before the WWW there was Telnet!

Wasn't Compuserve originally a telnet based service?
