>I thought RD was suppose to be much better than VM.
Ram Doubler properly used is faster than VM because RD doesn't use the HD
and VM does.
Make sure that your 7.1 is updated with Updater 3.0, which puts in a newer
Memory control panel.
Make sure that 32 bit addressing is selected in the Memory control panel.
The following is quoted from the RD ReadMe, it describes one cause for slow RD:
"For example, a configuration with 8MB of physical RAM installed should
not run an application that requires 10MB of RAM. Installing RAM Doubler
doubles the memory to 16MB, allowing you to launch the 10MB application;
however, this slows performance considerably. If an application's memory
requirements are less than the amount of physical RAM installed, there is
no noticeable performance degradation. The memory RAM Doubler provides is
best used to run more applications simultaneously."
