I had this great idea for a hack a while back. (Hey, we all want
Applefritter fame.) I had a Sun Sparc IPX with a dead motherboard. I don't
even remember where I got the IPX or why I had it. Anyway, I noticed that
the size of its case was just the right size for an SE motherboard! So I got
an SE motherboard, put it in, and chiseled away at the back of the IPX to
make openings for all the ports. But I finally got fed up because I couldn't
figure out how to get the power supply in there and connected properly and
whatnot. (I probably could have used a different ps, but I don't know much
about electronics and I have this fear of inadvertantly killing myself.)
Anyway, my impatience prevailed, and I gave up the project in a fit of
annoyance. But now the idea is out there... and maybe some of you with a
little more ingenuity could undertake this idea....
