I have a new mac I'm rehabing, this performa 600. As soon as I plug in the
power cord it starts up. When I choose shut down it does and then
immediatly starts right back up.

Things I've tried:

1) I've turned the small knob to the right of the power cord so it's in or
out, neither position solves the problem. (is this the right thing I'm
turning?)

2) Plugged in power with no mouse or keyboard attached, it still
automatically starts.

I know somebody else on the list with a IIcx is having a very similar
problem, maybe it's the sam culprit?

Any thoughts or ideas are welcome.

TIA
MacRehab
