Someone said I could do the following to block
internet
apps from trying to download anything from these two
servers. Both Netscape and IE just sit there forever
trying to download some file that doesn't exist.
I assume it works on Windows (I put them in the hosts
file last night but haven't tried it yet.) but when I
tried those lines on the Mac it just hollered about
js-adex3.flycast.com being an "invalid type". Yay!
Another business as usual useless error message. :P

"Go to your Windows directory, find the file called
'hosts'

Add the folowing lines:
127.0.0.1 js-adex3.flycast.com
127.0.0.1 ad-adex3.flycast.com

You'll probably need to reboot to see the effect.

Those two servers cause all kinds of problems in all
browsers.
Adding this to the hosts file kills them."

Most any site that uses the Ultimate Bulletin Board
(UBB) forum system uses these servers for part of the
banner ads and they always do that never ending
download
thing. Someone please take a "clue-by-four" after
Flycast's sysadmins.
