How about the Monitors And Sound control panel, and the extension (s)?
Barring a dead PRAM battery, restart it and zap the PRAM and rebuild
the desktop to see if that sets it back to pre-freeze, pre-vga adapter
conditions. You'll be working in the dark, but you know the keypad
combinations....
