I never did care for MS Works. ClarisWorks has been wonderful since v1.0. In fact, ClarisWorks pretty much took over the "Works" market on the Mac -- much like Word and Excel did for word processing and spreadsheets, FileMaker for databases. You'd probably be very happy with ClarisWorks 3 or 4 on a Vintage Mac. Not sure, but suspect it can import MS Works files.
