Yah, SCSI. I evicted a 44meg SyQuest from an external case then planted a Panasonic 7502W 4X CD-R in it. It's a bit on the bulky side but it works. There are some "slimline" external SCSI cases that are hardly bigger than a 5.25" drive and put the power supply behind the drive. Still bulky but that's as good as it gets unless you find a custom cased external SCSI CD-R/RW drive designed for portability. Those often come with a PCMCIA (16bit) or CardBus (32bit) controller. If your PowerBook doesn't have PCMCIA or CardBus then you want to make sure the drive has a cable or converter available for a standard SCSI port. Some of the PPC PowerBooks with PCMCIA can be upgraded to CardBus, but it ain't cheap to have done. ===== http://www.junkscience.com "All the Junk that's fit to Debunk!" __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
