Out of the box 8.0/8.1 won't do 512x384. There are some resedit hacks that can be done (seen on the CC Upgrade Faq page) to make it work. I don't know how you'd go about installing it though... You may have to Wish I Were it to something else, or go ahead and break down and do the screen upgrade (it's very worth it, IMHO. Makes it usable ;) ) Actually, I don't think Wish I Were would do it... hmm.. You'll probably have to install the system on another Mac that's Wish I Were'ed to an LC 575 and then do the Resedit hacks, then copy the stuff over.
