The 64 has a 6510 in it, a 6502 with a built-in I/O port used for cassette operations and memory banking signals. Commodore actually owned MOS Technologies, the developers of the 6502, and licensed the design. > I do know that the SuperNES utilized the the same processor as the C64, > But some how was 16bit. I donno, I just remember reading that some where The NES used a 6502 without decimal mode (IIRC), but the SNES uses a 65816, a 16-bit version (the IIgs also uses the '816), with a few modifications. Interestingly, the C64 can be powered by a 65816 with an add-on cartridge called the SuperCPU. -- ----------------------------- personal page: http://www.armory.com/~spectre/ -- Cameron Kaiser, Point Loma Nazarene University * [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Diplomacy is the art of saying "nice doggy" until you find a rock. --------- -- Vintage Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
