Yup. In my experience the only time you need to check
that box is when you're using the Mac on it's own
on a dialup account. For TCP/IP networking over a
LAN you _don't_ want it checked. Silly Mac likes to
dump out TCP/IP then can't be persuaded to load it
again, especially when networked to non-Mac machines.
Until I found that checkbox I would get about 10
minutes of networking then I'd have to reboot the
Mac. It'd dump the connection even when doing file
transfers with DAVE to/from my PC. (But part of the
problem was also WinGate and SyGate on the PC. No
problems with DAVE or internet sharing using Microsoft
ICS on Win98SE!)
