Here in the High Desert of California, we use them as tree ornaments, trees
like pistachio, apple, peach, apricot all benefit from this as the platters
spin in the wind, and catch the sunlight, scaring off marauding birds who
eat the fruits before WE get to.

P.S., when rigged right, I'm sure their sonorous tone would make them fine
windchimes, as well.
