Okay, I jumpered the Motor Start pair. Result: This time, for once, the
LC3 started up fine from the zip drive, the monitor fired up okay...but
the Imprimis did not. Red light flashed twice on startup and a few more
times as extensions loaded, then nothing.

I tried changing the Term Power source jumper setting from the drive to
the buss, but that didn't help, so I changed it back to its vertical/left
position.

The hacked version of HD SC Setup cannot see the Imprimis. When I try
using Drive Setup 1.7.3 instead, the computer goes into an immediate
restart instead of showing the DS window. I've never seen that behavior
before.

So, a little progress...but not enough. I would hate to give up now. Any
views regarding whether the LC3's PSU can handle this drive would be very
welcome. I don't have access to any peecee's.

BTW I tried banging it on the floor a few times too but if it was stuck,
it still is. If I could find another big old extra jumper here, I'd
probably give it a different scsi address just to see whatever happens,
but I can't find one so far.

Thanks, everybody.
