In a past life I was a securities broker, and the firm I was with raised a LOT of money for wind generated electricity. The big windfarms out in California. Like out around Palm Springs and so forth. The one thing that kept them from being economic( making money) was that bugs splatted on the turbine blades and cut the efficiency down below the $$$ line.
