Once again, advice needed: I have the nice IIci that I've mentioned before. Bought a Quadra 700, since it was cheaper to buy the machine than parts. I thought I would use this for the hard drive, as a means to back up the software on the IIci.
Well, the Quadra has a bad floppy drive. So, I am thinking of moving the hard drive from the IIci to the Quadra along with the floppy drive. This would give me the Quadra case, a faster motherboard with more memory (20MB as opposed to 8) and I'd still have the Quadra hard drive to use for backups. The IIci drive has OS 7.1 currently on it. The Quadra has 8.1, which I really like. It also has some nice disk tools and troubleshooting programs I'd like to keep. I would probably leave it as is for a bit, and set it up as a backup after I get everything working right. Any hints/warnings/tips? Any reason why this wouldn't be a good idea?
