I always liked HyperCard because I could make my own stacks or modify
Shareware stacks. Some I made as a kid were:

Knock Knock Jokes
Diary
Homework Calendar
To Do List
Favorite Shel Silverstein Poems
Favorite Quotes
Favorite Clipart

Other ideas include stories, data base of collections (i.e. baseball cards),
Auto-biography, ABC's (i.e., the ABCs of Basketball...A=Air. B=Ball...)

Old hypercard books can usually be checked out of the library (or found in
thrift shops!) for any budding computer programmer.
