As we say here, "easy as pie."

"Virtualy all" Mac type mice are held together with two small Phillips
head screws located under the label on the bottom. If you press with your
finger tip you can feel the holes through the label. Carefully lift the
end of the label with a sharp knife blade and peel it back far enough to
see the hole. Use a small screw driver to remove the screws and the mouse
will easily open (in most cases, the "back end" of the mouse lifts up
first). You might be suprised at the amount of fuzz you will find inside.
The usual problem is gunk that collects around the small roller ends. You
can remove the slotted wheel assemblies, but should use a bit of care as
they are tricky to get out without breaking one of the detents. I use a
pair of sharp tweezers to pull out the lint and pet hair I find and then
a cotton swab (Q-tip) dipped in a bit of alcohol to clean the rollers.
Reassemble and you are ready to go. Resolve to keep the kitty off the
desk!

Ken

Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.
