Aye, to each machine, it seems, an operating system that makes it run at its optimum performance.
In the case ofthe SE, it's all four matched-ram megabytes, System 6.0.8, and a RAM Disk, loaded with a few of the most commonly used programs. To keep this a little more On Topic, my 6100 w/ G3 card nearly seems to HATE OS 9.1, while a newly acquired 7100/80 runs as if it were Teflon with OS 8.5. My IIci hauls with 7.1, and tolerates 7.5.3 pretty readily. Jeff > It doesn't fly on an SE, I downgraded mine to 6.0.8 'cause I got fed up > with it taking a few years to boot.
