"actually my gut feeling at least about the lightbulb stuff, and
probably the computers as well, is that its got to do with the ability
to build up a lot of static electricity... i usually get a little static
shock when i blow a light bulb..

this thread fascinates me. thoughts that have crossed my mind while
reading it:

1) I sing the body electric.
>we know the human body has an electric field. do some reading about
Kirlian photography. get a look at the pictures they have taken
2) if it's static buildup, one odd way I read about to ground people who
tend to build up a lot of static is to have them wrap thier feet in
aluminum foil before they go near an electric device. another cheap way
to keep the static buildup down is to make a solution of water and
liquid fabric softener and keep it in a spray bottle and mist down the
area before approaching the electric device you are concerned about
zapping. humidity cuts down on static buildup. if it's a whole- house
problem, get a humidifier, or keep a big pot of water on the stove at
all times, starting at full boil and then lowering the heat to a low
evaporative simmer til the water needs to be refilled. For you Martha-
Stewart types, you can toss in a handful of herbs like lavender or sage
or thyme, whose smell will add interest to the house atmosphere. you
don't want the air dripping wet, just not bone dry. your lungs will be
happier, not just all the electrical devices.
you could make your zappy pal wear a grounding strap on their ankle that
trails on the floor, at all times...

see if any of these dampen the problem--literally.
