So now that I finally have 3.1.1 running on the Quadra 650, I installed
3.0.1 on the Iicx w/ 50Mhz DayStar accelerator. There is no FPU on the
accelerator card but there does seem to be one on the motherboard. The
initial install went fine to a 160MB HD via boot floppy and a CD-ROM drive.
After rebooting into A/UX, I think the system was mad that the CD-ROM drive
wasn't a specific Apple ROM CD-ROM drive. So I pulled it off the chain and
then installed the AWS Tune-Up 1.0 to get up to 3.0.2. Tomorrow I'll try to
hook the CD-ROM back up to see if the update helped to get the CD-ROM
working properly. I've got a 700MB HD internal with 7.5.1 and another 170MB
external with 7.5.5 and Open Transport. Network throughput through an Asant
10bT EtherCon NuBus NIC is pretty pathetic but hey, it's TCP/IP! Video
through a SuperMac Thunder II GX1152, great for 7.5.5 but under A/UX the
acceleration is not existent.

Only 32MB RAM of the 80MB installed appear. I installed MODE32 in each
system folder on the MacPartition and in the root System Folder. It shows up
on launch but still only 32MB show. Any ideas?

Getting the 230MB MO drive working on the Quadra has still not proved to be
100% reliable. Sometimes, it will show up as a proper device but other times
it will not. I think it is a termination issue but I'm still
troubleshooting. DAT drive working great, both 2GB Barracuda HDs are working
well (one wide internally with 50 pin adapter, one narrow external in case),
a 4.3GB Barracuda running well in external case, split into two partitions
and shared through the Shared Data folder, internal Apple CD-ROM all seem to
do well. I think fsck freaks out on boot since one of the partitions of the
4.3GB Barracuda drive is larger than 2GB but it checks out ok when run
manually. Should I just reformat that 4.3GB into one big A/UX partition to
mount under Shared Data? And shouldn't I be sharing these at some other
mount point that doesn't have a space in it if I want to access it via ftp?

Video in the Quadra is a Spectrum IV/24 right now with works fine but I want
to get the VRAM back in there to try the onboard video out.

I installed a 10bT Asant NIC in it as well figuring I can use it as a
router somewhere.

I also figured out where I went wrong with the whole System 7.1.1 Pro vs.
AppleShare Pro. AppleShare Pro 1.1 seems to run fine on the 3.0.2 system,
which was a surprise to me. So wasn't AppleShare Pro a pre AppleShare 4.0
incarnation? I'm trying to find out what version of AppleShare Print Server
is the equivalent to AppleShare Pro Print Server...
