well i have another new baby to add to my adopted collection of vintage macs...
finally got hold of the Powerbook Duo230 with docking station... fascinating bit of architecture it is... apparently the screen on the powerbook has gone (i havent tried it yet) but it works perfectly in the docking station... i've still got to extract a 3Mb database from it, my attempts yesterday using Splitsville 1.0.1 failed - it worked fine getting the split files off the Duo230, but failed once i'd emailed them via my PC to the G4 desktop.... possibly it was the transfer via PC but i am not sure.... i brought it home to transfer via appletalk to my LC III and then network it to my pc... where i can email it in one piece to the owner.... i am allowed to keep the Duo230 on the condition i extract the database... bit of a strange job, i get paid in vintage macs ;-).... so.... what shall i do with this Duo230?... any ideas?.... thinking of case mod stuff... but maybe, it looks so unique, i'll just keep it the way it is.... bw m~ -- iriXx www.iriXx.org copyleft: creativity, technology and freedom?
