possibly, i've been curious about the coprocessor hack myself. i was meaning to check
and see if i've got a photo with the same board but with an fpu used in another mac
model. you might have to use wish i were to install the os afterwards. i hadn't
noticed the floppy connection, likely it works fine, but might be wired in parallel to
the other one in which case you'd be trying to run both floppies off of one port.
check it with an ohm meter and see if all the pins are common between the two.

run hd toolkit or something similar. more likely than bad chips on the cache card is
a bad connection, try pulling it out and reseating it, possibly a few times, possibly
with the aid of contact cleaner. generally, things like ram double do a great deal to
slow things down and destabilize them, i'd only use it as a last resort. 16m ram is
going pretty cheaply lately on the swap list and elsewhere, 2 simms for $15.

it would make more sense to just put a logic board from an lc475 with a new, complete
040 or similar board into a small monitor, like a 14". it could be fit into some, and
then you'd have a very nice color portable/all in one.
