I have successfully booted even the 128k Guided Tour disk (System .85)
on my Classic. I've had more luck with a useful(?) system by copying the
System files to a HD floppy and booting the Classic there with 1.1g and
.97.

The ancient systems seem to have no trouble reading floppies and even
HDs, but trying to format them doesn't do too well.

Incidentally, even System 1 works fine at 800x600 resolution. How's that
for support of the future? :)

hi list. I have a compact question, but its slightly
related. I have a Mac Classic (with the expansion
board) and have been running it in system 6.0.8. It
runs productivity apps (ie macwrite, macpaint, etc)
just fine. i've been hearing about how the classic is
just like the plus in the way that it can run OLD
system software like "1.1g". i've also heard that this
may cause problems with the hard drive. Is the support
for FDHD and HFS built into the ROM or is that
something the OS is supposed to provide?
thx
