Correct. I believe a second or two after you see the OS boot up screen (not 
the happy mac) you can switch it. After that the mac doesn't care about the 
sense lines any more.

Yes, I had a generic manual 4-port HDB-15 switchbox (pc vga, three lines of 
five) hooked up to a mac and three pc's and each of them had their own 
peripherals. I decided soon thereafter to buy a Belkin! My faves are the big 
old metal ones with the PS/2 AND serial ports because they have a RJ-11 port 
(telephone jack) on the side that allows you to attach a foot pedal to use 
as a switch instead pressing the button on the box, or some dumb key combo. 
I have two of them cascaded, and I have another one waiting to be hooked up.

I don't believe so. Just be careful. If possible stack them on their sides, 
power-supply side up. Usually the PS is what creates the most heat.
