just a note... while i agree in the main with your message... there's a reason i use top posting occasionally.
on one of my other mailing lists theres a visually impaired guy who uses a text to speech reader. having to read through all the comments and particularly the > 's turns text to speech into gibberish. so i've learnt to go against my instincts and top post to that list for his benefit. unfortunately its become a habit and occasionally i top post to other lists when its late at night and im tired after work or something and not thinking as clearly... dan, i really think you do a great job of looking after the list - and its such a nice list here, everyone's so friendly and not at all exclusive like some other techy lists i know... tbh i really dont think theres much to worry about... i havent noticed that many top posts or large quotations... certainly it hasnt affected my reading.... i'd hate to see us turn netiquette into a huge issue here as i've seen it divide lists before...when it isnt really a huge issue beyond the very basics of being considerate.... all the best m~ -- iriXx www.iriXx.org copyleft: creativity, technology and freedom?
