OK maybe I exaggerated a Little. Maybe a couple dozen, up on a shelf in
the Seattle, WA REPC warehouse. They have mostly PC stuff, but a few Mac
or Sun things as well, like old 610's and 6100's, Sparc's, etc. They
just got two CC's and six SE/30's, but I'm gussing they'll soup those
suckers up with anything reasonably available (perhaps 575 mobo's for
the CC's), then sell them for more than they're worth. *sigh* They
wouldn't let me buy an SE/30 as it was. I even saw into the back room of
one of the local techs and noticed several NeXT Cubes hanging around.
Come to think of it, they have several 9600's and a G3AIO. Hmm. Oh well.
Santa might be bringing me a used iceBook for Christmas, so I'd better
save up my money to help Santa out.
On a (slightly?) unrelated note, I was in the VisCom room @ my school
and saw a total of eleven Graphite towers. Pure Joy just standing there
staring like an idiot. In the back room were two (or more) iMac
FlatPanels. In The Flesh (or plastic). Lovely. Then the photo shoot was
over. I had to stop listening to the VisCom teacher's lecture on what to
avoid: the "jump shot" (where in the middle of continuous filming there
is a mess up and you cut that part out so the characters "jump" to their
new position on screen with no warning; Apple used it for effect on the
Switch ads, but it kinda gets annoying). Anyway, they had to rip my feet
from the floor to get me to leave and go back to my regularly scheduled
class. *sigh* <daydreams about FP iMac>
