If the PRAM battery has been dead or removed long
enough the initial power on date and time as well as
the total hours used will be erased. Some people have
rescued old 68k Macs from schools and publishing
companies with many thousands of hours on the counter.

There's an idea for LEM. See who has the Mac with the
most hours of use. :) Of course the PRAM battery
would have to have been changed in time to prevent
the counter from resetting.
