Hello! I'm new to Vintage Macs (the list, anyway.) ;)
I just got a nice SuperMac Thunder/24 NuBUS video card and I have a couple
of questions about it. I put it in my IIci, and it forms very nicely, but I suspect
it would run much better with the proper software versions. I am presently
using SuperVideo CDEV v2.7.x (not sure precisely of which version beyond
2.7). I want to install v3.1 or at least v3.0, and the Image Processing
Accelerator v2.5.6. Here's my 2 questions..

1) Each file I DL for this card comes as (filename simulated of course)
file.smi.hqx. Presumably a binhexed Self-Mount Image. I decode the Binhex,
and it magically (evilly) turns into a .smi.sit. So I figure, sure, it was just
misnamed at the end, so I run it through Stuffit Expander/Lite. Lite can't open
it, Expander ignores the file and does nothing. They're not really SMIs, Disk
Copy can't mount them.

2) It has 4 Memory Slots. For the heck of it, I put in 4 memory modules from
my IIfx. The Mac wouldn't turn on at all (just clicked), so I removed them and it
booted fine. What sort of VRAM does it really use? :)

Thanks!
