The black and white screen is running 1 bit video.
When the electron gun is on, the screen is white.
When it's off, there's black. What you have to do
is chuck the 1 bit on/off circuitry and build a
driver board for the electron gun that can run up to
256 different levels of power to the electron gun.
(8 bit greyscale)

I've no idea how the Micron Exceed internal greyscale
adaptor did that, but I bet it would be a good
starting point. I think someone has it figured out
and a schematic drawn up. 'Course building one just
like that will only work with certain models of the
Micron card.
